Congratulations to Ayan Gupta, our 2020 Graduate of the Year!
Ayan is from Washington state and started his Destination Imagination (DI) journey in elementary school. Though his participation in DI, he grew in confidence and creativity—two skills that led him to create the nonprofit organization, STEMZ Education, in 2017. STEMZ offers affordable mentorships with accomplished high school students and conducts summer programs for kids. To date, more than 3,000 students have been impacted through STEMZ Education.
In 2017, Ayan and a team of students were named a winner of Verizon’s Innovative Learning App Challenge for their “Take Me There” mobile app concept, which would provide disabled commuters the ability to locate accessible transportation.
Ayan was named as the youngest honoree of 425 Magazine’s 2019 “30 Under 30” list.
