Creativity is a skill that is essential in today’s world. It is the ability to think outside the box, come up with new ideas, and solve problems in innovative ways.
At Destination Imagination, our goal is to teach kids and teens the creative process—a step-by-step approach that helps them to better understand problems, ask better questions, come up with solutions, learn from failure, and celebrate their achievements. When kids go through this process, they learn invaluable life and career skills (creative thinking, critical thinking, public speaking, collaborative problem-solving, and more) that help them feel empowered and set them up for success in their future.
Our flagship program is the DI Challenge Experience, which is a team-based competition where students solve open-ended STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) Challenges. However, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to the creative experience. In order to meet the differing needs of students, schools, afterschool programs, and more, we also offer a variety of other project-based learning experiences, including:
- Early Learning Challenge: Our noncompetitive STEAM Challenge, designed for pre-K through 2nd-grade students, nurtures curiosity, inquiry, and play and teaches basic STEM principles.
- Digital Open: Our virtual STEAM competition, designed for 3rd-grade through university-level students, can be solved by teams in person, virtually, or through a hybrid environment.
- SkillFire: Our curriculum, designed for camps, classrooms, and clubs, is flexible, noncompetitive, and can be done with student groups of any size.
