CHALLENGE: Help! The turkey needs to escape, but can’t do it alone! Use your creativity and imagination to design your turkey and then build a device to transport it to safety.
SUGGESTED MATERIALS:
Turkey: 1 paper plate, 1 paper cup, 1 tennis ball or golf ball, cardboard, construction paper, crayons/markers, legos, tape
Transporter: String (10 feet), 1 chopstick, 4 straws, 1 empty ribbon spool, 2 cardboard tubes, 6 paper clips, tape
TIME: 30 minutes
SCORING:
A. Up to 20 points for the creativity of your turkey
B. Up to 20 points for the creativity of your transporter
C. 10 points if your turkey is successfully transported at least 3 feet; or 15 points if your turkey is successfully transported at least 6 feet.
D. Up to 20 points for how well your group works together
